First South Sudan- China Think Tank Forum (25th October 2019)

CSPS and Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University organized the First South Sudan- China Think Tank Forum. The forum took place in Juba on Friday 25th of October, 2019 under the theme “Strengthening the Friendship Toward Shared future”.  The Forum is conducted with financial support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in South Sudan. H.E. Dr. James Wani Igga, the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan officially opened the forum and gave remarks.

H.E. Hua Ning, Ambassador of China to South Sudan gave remarks as well. This forum brought together 125 participants from academia, Think Tank institutions, Universities, business community, members of diplomatic corps and high level government officials. Scholarly papers were presented and participants openly interacted and shared ideas and several recommendations were made during the discussion sessions. This forum provided an opportunity for future academic exchange between China and South Sudan. The Forum was closed by Hon.Deng Dau Malek, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation who gave the closing remarks.
